Job Summary:
The Director will participate in employee hiring, supervision of external partners relations, curriculum planning, development of new programs, budgeting, administrative tasks, and family and youth engagement. The Director will also develop and sustain community and volunteer partnerships to enhance programming.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Executive Office to plan program initiatives and expansion.
Assist in identifying new partnerships and resources for program support.
Collaborate with the Executive Office on fundraising and marketing efforts.
Supervise the youth programs ensuring quality care, responsive youth support systems, and a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment.
Work with the community partners to participate in youth advisory committees such as VT Youth Alliance Center.
Coordinate programs with community partners.
Develop activities, programs, and educational practices in conjunction with program employees.
Oversee program logistics, including supply orders, and trips.
Ensure that volunteers are oriented and have appropriate assignments.
Establish open communication and positive relationships with parents and guardians.
Maintain collaborative relationships with school administrators, support staff, and partnering organizations in the community.
The Director prepares the annual Community Center budget.
This position requires you to directly supervise adolescents without the presence of a legal guardian. As a result, you are required as a mandated reporter, to report any suspected instances of abuse or neglect to the appropriate state agency.
Knowledge & Experience:
Associate’s degree: Bachelor’s degree or equal experience preferred.
Experience in youth programs or community center management.
Effective and proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle sensitive situations or conflict between youths.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
